Year 5 Teacher – Hemel Hempstead

We are seeking a passionate enthusiastic and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Hemel Hempstead starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality lessons that challenge and inspire pupils academically socially and emotionally in Upper Key Stage 2.

As a Year 5 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum. You will foster resilience independence and a love of learning while ensuring all pupils make strong academic and personal progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum

• Deliver engaging literacy numeracy and foundation subject lessons

• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL

• Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours

• Maintain a structured inclusive and stimulating classroom environment

• Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records

• Provide targeted interventions to support pupil attainment

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

• Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives

• Support school events enrichment activities and extra-curricular opportunities

• Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 5

• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills

• Be reflective proactive and adaptable

• Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

• Work collaboratively as part of a professional supportive team
