Position plans organizes directs and controls the activities for Risk Management requirements at St. Marys Health Care System. Responsible for creating and implementing safety protocols training staff and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Oversees the System Risk Coordinator. Complies with hospital policies and supports the mission and values of the hospital. Position is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act which prohibits discrimination in health programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. This role provides oversight monitoring education and risk mitigation related to patient civil rights and nondiscrimination obligations
Position Requirements:
A: Licensure/Certification/Registration: CPHRM or CPPS preferred
B. Education: Bachelors degree required preferably in medical related field. Masters Degree is preferred.
C: Experience: Three years with supervisory capacity and five years of management experience if used in lieu of formal education.
D. Special Qualifications: Professional knowledge in quality legal risk and patient safety.
A working knowledge of principles and practices of Quality Risk Management and/or Safety including methods and techniques used in program management and development planning and organization as required by the state federal government and other regulatory bodies. Must be able to plan organize and coordinate varied and complex operations present ideas effectively orally and in writing to a diverse audience. Must be able to deal constructively with conflict; collect analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources and take appropriate action. Must be able to select supervise train and evaluate employees. Must have the ability to develop and manage a budget.
