Vendor Presales Specialist
The impact you will have
Do you have a passion for driving solutions through developing strong relationships As our Dell Vendor Sales Specialist youll understand the challenges customers have with client hardware in their environment and solve those challenges through delivery of PCs AIPCs and various workplace client hardware such as peripherals and accessories. IT Lifecycle services are also relevant to recommend to the customer based on their needs. You will coordinate and execute sales strategies across multiple sales districts and channels. Grow customers through competitive tactics while retaining and enriching base of existing accounts. Manage local vendor partnerships to ensure successful execution of solutions.
What youll do
Managing Dell pipeline of sales opportunities supporting multiple different technology partners.
Providing pre-sales support to Sales Representatives and customers for client hardware solutions
Identifying new hardware buying accounts and prospects upsell/cross-sell opportunities on existing customer base
Developing customer proposals and pricing comparisons for vendor hardware solutions.
Delivering product roadmap for customers.
Participating in local customer events to deliver Softchoice content.
Developing and delivering training to Sales teams on vendors products and services.
Engaging with local Sales teams to sell jointly into sales territories and customer accounts.
Prepare and present training content to sellers and the sales team
Co-ordinate with vendor AEs attend events and be a speaker depending on the event.
Identify new hardware buying accounts and prospects upsell/cross-sell opportunities on existing customer base.
What youll bring to the table
Excellent customer-facing presentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidence in executive-level meetings.
Ability to develop strategy and tactics to meet business objectives.
A strong sense of competition and refusal to lose.
The ability to be self-managed and motivated.
4 years of relevant industry experience with 3 years in either sales or marketing capacity.
Dell experience highly preferred.
Must have work experience in IT industry.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint).
Strong PC OEM and other workplace hardware industry knowledge (Lenovo HP etc).
Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent preferred.
Required Skills:
Presales Description: Participate in architectural discussions related to achieving successful deployments Network administration of both hardware infrastructure and Linux based routers as well as multiple vendor firewalls Systems administration of Linux servers Scripting as required Perform partner technical support starting with Tier 3-4 escalations from Level 2 support desk Coordinate escalations with vendors Be part of the on-call support rotation Perform additional duties within the skill set for this position We will potentially be looking for multiple like resources to cover different shifts. Each position will largely have consistent working hours but will involve participating in duties as a senior engineer for on-call escalations. This position is primarily remote with occasional office visits for meetings. Qualifications/Experience/Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Linux system and/or network engineer Ability and desire to quickly learn new topics and frameworks Extensive knowledge of Linux is a must including but not limited to: Package installation and maintenance configuring of networking and integration into existing networks core services Extensive knowledge of IP networking principles protocols and network design is required Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or Python is preferred Experience with configuration management systems such as SaltStack is preferred Excellent working knowledge in deploying and maintaining server hardware Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized and process driven Professional services work a bonus Linux and network certifications a bonus
