The Preschool

KU Mosman Community Preschool is located in the heart of Mosman and caters for children aged 3-5 years Monday to Friday between 8am - 3:30pm during NSW school term time. We take a special interest in childrens literature and this is incorporated into our program through activities such as group-time discussion author and illustrator studies and the reading of good quality childrens literature. We believe preschool is a warm and welcoming place where children and families can enjoy a sense of belonging a place where children can enhance their confidence and celebrate the joy of being a child.

This exciting opportunity will see you join the team full time working 5 days per fortnight on a permanent basis.

The roster pattern is every Wednesday 7.6 & Thursday 7.6 hours each day and every second Tuesday 7.6 hours totaling 38 hours per fortnight. You would also have to opportunity to access additional casual days across other KU Preschools where available if so required.

The Early Childhood Teacher will provide high-quality education to young children using evidence-based and contemporary pedagogy and practices that align with the National Quality Standards Early Years Learning Framework and National Education and Care Law and Regulations. They will take the lead in developing and implementing a high-quality educational program and will build positive respectful and collaborative relationships with children families and colleagues. The Early Childhood Teacher will be responsible for developing an inclusive environment alongside the director where each childs learning and development needs are met and the services philosophy policies and regulatory requirements are upheld.

Of course you will need:

  • Australian working rights
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check
  • An ACECQA recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree
  • Completed Child Protection Training as well as demonstrated understanding of current child safe practices
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates along with current separate approved Asthma andAnaphylaxis Management certificates
  • NESA Teacher Accreditation
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
