As an Oceans Technologist Student Intern you will be responsible for preparing for sea trials marine mammal monitoring acoustic tank testing electronics testing developing & deploying specialized equipment and analyzing data. Were looking for someone detail-oriented and passionate about their work with an ongoing desire improve their skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and test necessary equipment for sea trials
- Deploy and retrieve specialized equipment (hydrophones arrays CTDs acoustic releases v-wings data loggers & other acoustic devices)
- Ensure products tested conform to manufacturing specifications
- Conduct specialized testing
- Manage project builds
- Analyze calibration data and prepare reports
- Prepare testing plans for various types of calibrations
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in the Oceans Technology Program
- Competent with Microsoft Word & Excel
- Basic understanding of acoustic principals
- Passionate about Ocean Technologies
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Detail oriented and well organized
Security Requirements
All candidates must be eligible to apply for and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
