Job Summary

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

The Integration Engineer Manager will lead the launch operations final integration team responsible for all joint operations with launch vehicle providers. This team oversees all joint operations including Leo and launch vehicle hardware and operations.

Additionally the Integration Engineer Manager is responsible for process deconfliction completion of satellite electrical and separation verifications and day of launch operations.

The ideal candidate is comfortable in a highly technical setting and leads collaboration with other departments to reach the best solution to any problem while maintaining launch readiness.

Key job responsibilities
- Work with engineering teams mission management and launch vehicle providers to ensure satellite readiness for launch
- Develop integrated operations procedures for new and existing vehicles
- Own anomaly resolution and corrective action implementation
- Drive engineering project throughout launch campaigns make technical trade-offs and resolve blocking issues.
- Provide launch readiness for the engineering team
- Provide on console support during launch countdown
- Assist in hiring personnel (engineers and technicians) related to above tasking.


A day in the life
You will oversee integrated Leo and Launch Vehicle operations for all Leo launches. For each mission you will own ICD deliverable inputs and verification artifacts deconflict facility or Leo resources ensure adequate staffing for operations represent the integration team during program reviews and lead day of launch activities.

You will also lead the team responsible for all procedures engineering verifications joint operation planning and continuous improvement related to these items.

- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering electrical engineering material science physics or equivalent or Bachelors degree
- 3 years of technical leadership role
- 5 years of experience with space launch systems and operations
- 3 years experience in developing functional specifications design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Able to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport and Must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

- 5 years of Space Vehicle/Satellite Operations Space Communications or related industry experience
- Experience communicating effectively with senior leadership
- 5 years experience in space hardware integration operations
- Experience with launch vehicle electrical testing and networking
- Highly familiar with QTP/ATP and production test methods and automated data acquisition and collection
- Formal training/certification in Operational Excellence Systems (Lean 5S Six Sigma etc.) a plus
- Strong organizational analytical root cause analysis and problem solving skills

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
