Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) of years training and experience in the heating-ventilation-air conditioning trade energy savings methods/systems and associated computer operation.
- Valid Florida drivers license.
- Valid Type I Type II and Type III Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) certification.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification to handle refrigerants
- NATE Residential Heating and Air Conditioning certificate.
- Light Commercial Heating and Air Conditioning certificate.
- Completion of an AC vocational or journeymens training program.
Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.
- Knowledge of electronics pneumatic and direct digital temperature control systems and other electrical services associated with school facilities.
- Knowledge of pertinent regulations policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA Public Records Sunshine Law FERPA and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy public information and records retention.
- Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment materials practices computers and applications.
- Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
- Ability to diagnose repair modify and maintain HVAC temperature and lighting components/systems.
- Ability to perform basic electrical/mechanical/plumbing tasks.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities
- Analyze troubleshoot calibrate and repair existing temperature control systems and building management systems.
- Collect equipment data from new and existing schools for storage in computer database to expedite reference for maintenance energy savings statistics and other relative functions.
- Assist in the operation of central energy-saving computer systems to monitor schools for correct electrical performance analyze malfunctions and take appropriate actions.
- Work with chillwater HVAC technicians and building staff to coordinate adjustments of energy management systems.
- Comply with applicable safety regulations and procedures.
- Utilize basic District computer applications for communication training and record keeping.
- Assist in the instruction of personnel on specific tasks as required.
- Maintain current licensure and certifications.
