CMHA is looking to hire a full-time Lead Family Support Specialist for our Reunification and Therapeutic Family Time (RTFT) program. This position will be located at 255 Bank St. Waterbury CT 06702. Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.
Compensation Range:The salary range for this position starts at $21.00 per hour. Compensation for each position is determined not only by years of relevant experience education and skills but also by maintaining internal pay equity. Position Summary: The Lead Family Support Specialist assists in overseeing program functions/operations in accordance with policies procedures internal processes and external regulatory agencies including but not limited to DPH Joint Commission DCF and Grant/Payer Sources under the supervision of Program Coordinator. Provides support education and intervention in the home community or office setting to assist caregivers in optimizing function in order to minimize family risk factors. Helps families to develop the skills necessary to ensure a safe and secure home environment for their children. Provides coaching to teammates as well as ensuring appropriate delivery of person-centered and recovery-oriented services. Responsible for a caseload of clients. Serves as an intensive family support specialist to teach advocate and support individuals with mental health primary care and/or co-occurring disorders. Essential Responsibilities: - Provides coaching and support to teammates to ensure appropriate delivery of services to all clients.
- Supports Program Coordinator in the onboarding and training process for new hires.
- Participates in and documents staff meetings weekly to ensure timely and accurate communication related to client care.
- Oversees day-to-day workflow and guides teammates on individual cases under the supervision of the Program Coordinator both in service delivery and in documentation.
- Conducts primary caseload responsibilities and all associated documentation as per agency policies and procedures.
- Participates as a CMHA representative in all necessary internal and external meetings that pertain to client care and programming.
- Collaborates with other team members to cultivate and ensure clients develop skills desires to improve/sustain a recovery-oriented quality of life.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements: - Bachelors degree in a mental health related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Successful experience in a supervisory or leadership role of direct care providers to clients in the behavioral health field; preferably a minimum of 2 years
- Successful experience working with children and families in child welfare daycare school settings; preferably a minimum of 3 years
- Must have valid drivers license and ability to provide own transportation
- Will become certified in MANDT First Aid and CPR.
- Participate in training courses on an annual basis as assigned.
