Part-Time Housekeeper UES

Position: Part-Time Live-Out Housekeeper
Schedule: Monday Wednesday Thursday and Friday 1:30 PM 5:30 PM (approximately 45 hours per day 20 hours per week)
Location: Upper East Side New York City
Salary:$30-$40/hour depending on experience
Start Date: Flexible for the right candidate
Relocation: No local candidates only

About the Family

A kind and private elderly couple located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking a reliable and experienced part-time housekeeper to help maintain their well-kept apartment. The household is quiet organized and low-key and the family values discretion consistency and someone who takes pride in their work.

The home is a 3-bedroom 3.5-bathroom apartment with a living room and kitchen. The household consists of two adults with no pets and no plants creating a straightforward and manageable environment.

This position is ideal for someone who is task-oriented proactive and highly skilled in laundry and ironing and who enjoys keeping a home running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of a 3-bedroom 3.5-bathroom apartment

• General housekeeping including cleaning bathrooms kitchen bedrooms and living areas

• Keep the apartment tidy and well-maintained on a daily basis

• Handle all household laundry including washing folding and organizing

• Expert-level ironing required most clothing and linens are ironed

• Manage laundry for towels and rugs in the buildings basement laundry room which includes machines and folding tables (accessible by elevator)

• Ensure laundry is completed carefully and returned neatly organized

• Perform occasional deep cleaning projects especially when the couple is traveling. They travel often

• Complete small household maintenance tasks such as changing A/C filters

• Assist with organization and special household projects as needed

• Maintain a clean orderly and comfortable environment for the homeowners

• The home is informal and does not require formal service standards.

The ideal candidate is organized proactive and detail-oriented with strong housekeeping fundamentals and exceptional laundry skills. The family is seeking someone who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative to complete tasks without constant direction.

This person should be comfortable working independently have a positive and respectful demeanor and take pride in maintaining a tidy and well-functioning home. The position also requires someone physically capable of light household tasks including using a ladder when necessary.

Professional ironing ability and strong laundry knowledge are especially important for this role.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a private household as a housekeeper

• Advanced laundry and ironing skills

• Ability to manage laundry in a separate basement laundry area

• Comfortable completing light household maintenance tasks

• Moderately strong and physically capable including climbing a ladder if needed

• Excellent references

• Legal authorization to work in the United States

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
