Position OverviewThe Student Engagement Center (SEC) at the University of Kansas serves as a hub for student involvement leadership development impact programs and resources and community programs. Through the Student Engagement Center KU students deepen their connection to each other and KU by exploring communities and opportunities to thrive during their Jayhawk experience. Students will engage through registered student organizations leadership experiences and professional development workshops. The Center will impact students by providing for direct needs in the Campus Cupboard Pregnant and Parenting Pantry clothing closets and the Emergency Aid Network. Jayhawks will build community as they connect with peers and engage in student support programs. The Student Engagement Center enhances existing programs by providing greater resources and deeper connections across Student Affairs.
The Student Social Media Manager is responsible for utilizing major social media platforms to help convey the overall voice and brand of the Student Engagement Center via engaging content that highlights student voices displays the many offerings of the center and fosters online engagement with KU Students. This will be done by creating and planning social content performing daily engagement gathering analytic data and working with SEC full-time staff to collaborate on marketing campaigns as needed.

Position RequirementsDuring the semester term of the appointment the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
