- Possession of a valid Emergency First Aid Certificate and Pesticide Application Licence
- Hire is dependent on Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton and there may be a cost associated with this requirement
- Completion of Leadership Training
- Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Drivers permit is a requirement of this position

Work Environment:
- Due to the nature of this work this position is not eligible for a hybrid work arrangement
- Various shifts
- Availability to attend events during the evenings and weekends may be required from time to time
- This role works in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Exposure to environmental conditions including extreme temperatures inclement weather dust noise light variation vibrations chemicals and exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards may occur
- This role requires completion of repetitive and strenuous tasks such as standing walking kneeling bending stooping crouching lifting items pushing pulling and physical stamina and resilience

You will oversee vital operations including Midway Operations Site & Facility Operations and Animal Welfare to ensure a safe and vibrant experience for all visitors. As an advanced field-level leader you will provide the bridge between strategic planning and hands-on team implementation. This role is perfect for a professional who thrives in public-facing environments and is passionate about maintaining high standards of safety and animal care.
What will you do
- Set daily work priorities provide direction and on-site supervision
- Ensure operational workloads and processes are completed accurately efficiently and effectively
- Monitor attendance and performance for subordinates
- Provide leadership training guidance and direction to staff
- Participate in recruitment and selection processes
- Ensure staff are equipped with resources to perform duties
- Prepare site for use according to specifications
- Provide ground maintenance and horticultural services
- Ensure Park is functioning safely in accordance with fire codes
- Maintain an adequate supply of inventory
- Ensure equipment tools and vehicles are safe used appropriately inspected maintained and repaired as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
