DescriptionThe role:
At Next we are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our Catering team within our onsite Nursery at HO in Leicestershire. As a Kitchen Porter you will help maintain the high standards of hygiene and efficiency with the kitchen. This is a fast paced role serving our busy Nursery you wont just be cleaning; youll be an essential part of a team that ensures our children have a safe healthy and positive environment every day. This is a part time position working 27.5 hours per week Monday to Friday-12:30pm - 6pm
What youll take on:
- Maintain Excellence: Operate commercial equipment to ensure all utensils and surfaces are cleaned and sanitised to health and safety standards.
- Support the Team: Assist with basic food preparation such as preparing snacks and portioning fresh ingredients.
- Drive Efficiency: Manage food storage and supplies to ensure freshness helping the business work smart and reduce waste.
- Organise the Space: Keep storage areas tidy to ensure the kitchen team has easy access to everything they need to succeed.
What Youll Bring
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Thorough attention to detail excellent time management and critical thinking skills
- An understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Flexibility and willingness to take on various tasks as required.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve standing bending and lifting.
