We are looking for a Financial Analyst for the Fulfillment Center/External Fulfillment (FC/EF) operations team who will be given significant responsibility from the start to drive both business and financial decisions. Financial Analysts are expected to evaluate and quantify new business ideas execute controllership and reporting for their businesses and perform data-intensive analyses all to drive meaningful change and improvement to the way we serve our customers.

The role will be based at our Tokyo or Osaka headquarters with occasional travel to locations across Japan (work location based on preference)

Key job responsibilities
You will be partnering with the business team to evaluate the best financial structure for new external fulfillment sites monitor performance of existing sites and be a right-hand person to the senior leaders of External Fulfillment operations. Your role will also encompass financial planning ROI analysis economic evaluation of new businesses and reporting of financial results.

On any given day you may be building a financial model for our annual operating plan performing month end close or helping the business team develop the best cost structure for new sites. There is always something new and exciting going on.

About the team
FC Finance is a team of 20 finance professionals covering 20 fulfillment centers and 90 External Fulfillment centers across Japan. Our members come from all walks of life backgrounds nationalities and genders. What we have in common is that we are strong with numbers have good business instincts and innovate on behalf of Amazons customers.

Learn more about the overall Japan Operations Finance team: 2 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- Knowledge of standard software including Excel Access Oracle Essbase SQL and VBA skills
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning forecasting and reporting

- 2 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
