POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is a stipended position offered to Boston Public School educators. The positions will reside in the Office of Teaching & Learning in the Boston Public Schools reporting to the Springboard Program Director. The Springboard Early Literacy Cluster Leaders will be responsible for leading Springboard programming across all school sites in their cluster supervising Program Leaders and teachers and supporting families to help students accelerate their progress in meeting grade-level literacy expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead Springboard programming across all school sites in assigned cluster
- Supervise Program Leaders and teachers within cluster
- Support student enrollment by ensuring complete records and waivers
- Support family recruitment for the program
- Attend virtual professional development (February 2 - 6) - up to 6 hours
- Participate in weekly meetings with Springboard team (February 22 - May 6) - 15 hours
- Provide school-based support including instruction PLCs family workshops assessments and learning celebrations - up to 30 hours
- Lead weekly tactical meetings with program leaders - 10 hours
- Provide guidance coaching and feedback to teachers
- Co-facilitate weekly city-wide meetings
- Monitor and manage attendance and assessment completion
- Monitor and coach toward high-quality instructional implementation and family engagement
- Complete data management tasks including Connect training and data review - up to 30 hours
- Support post-programming data clean-up and program wrap-up - up to 8 hours
- Achieve program goals: 100% registration to target enrollment 85% daily student attendance 90% family workshop attendance 80% of students achieve growth goals
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
- Currently a Boston Public Schools Employee
- Bachelors Degree required
- Experience in elementary literacy instruction (grades K-4)
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- A deeply held and unyielding belief in the overarching mission of public education
- Strong leadership and coaching skills
- Experience with data management and analysis
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED:
- Recommendation by District Administrator
- Familiarity with Boston and Boston Public Schools
- Experience with family engagement programs
- Previous experience with Springboard Collaborative or similar literacy programs
UNION/MANAGERIAL/RESIDENCY REQUIRED: Open to current Boston Public Schools employees (2 total positions) (residency not required)
COMPENSATION RANGE: Stipend - $59.39 per hour for a total of 100 hours ($5939 total stipend paid at the conclusion of programming)
