Job Summary
Temporary Accounting Analyst (Data Reconciliation)
Assignment Length: Approximately 2 months
Job Summary
We are seeking a Temporary Accounting Analyst to support a short-term data reconciliation project. This role will focus on comparing and reconciling accounts receivable data between two systemsone at a detailed transactional level and one at a summarized level. The ideal candidate is highly analytical Excel-savvy and able to work independently to identify and resolve data discrepancies within a defined project timeframe.
Key Responsibilities
Reconcile accounts receivable data between two systems including detailed invoice and payment data versus summarized balances
Identify analyze and document discrepancies between datasets
Use Excel to compare large datasets and support reconciliation efforts
Apply formulas and tools such as XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP pivot tables SUMIF IF/THEN logic and other methods to analyze data
Clearly communicate findings and reconciliation results to accounting and finance stakeholders
Support timely and accurate completion of the reconciliation project
Required Qualifications
Advanced Excel skills are required including experience with:
XLOOKUP / VLOOKUP
Pivot tables
SUMIF / COUNTIF
IF/THEN logic and other data comparison formulas
Experience working with large datasets and reconciling data between systems
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a short-term project-based role
Self-starter with an eager can-do attitude and ability to learn quickly
Ability to focus and remain productive in a loud or busy work environment
Preferred Qualifications
Background in accounting or finance
Experience with accounts receivable data (invoices payments customer balances)
Prior experience in a temporary project-based or contract role
Work Environment
Fast-paced project-driven assignment
Requires sustained focus and attention to detail
Limited training period; candidate must be comfortable ramping up quickly
The base pay range for this role is what we reasonably expect to pay for the position although actual pay may vary from this scale depending on an applicants experience.
