RieLes Group is seeking multiple experienced Emergency Medicine Physicians who is interested in working in the Houston TX area. The Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC) in Houston TX is one of the nations largest VA hospitals serving Veterans in Harris County and 27 surrounding counties. Located within the Texas Medical Center on a 118-acre campus it operates as a general teaching and research hospital with about 343 beds a 40-bed Spinal Cord Injury Center and a 120-bed transitional care unit. Fully accredited by the Joint Commission MEDVAMC offers advanced care in areas such as surgery cardiovascular medicine spinal cord injury cancer PTSD and transplants. Since 1949 it has been academically affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine while also training students from UT Health and UT Austin. As part of the South Central VA Health Care Network (VISN 16) MEDVAMC combines world-class medical treatment with education and research to provide comprehensive specialized care for Veterans.

Emergency Medicine Physicians
Location: Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center
2002 Holcombe Boulevard Houston TX 77030
FTE/PRN/Part-time
Pay range for this opportunity is $230-$250 hourly or
$260 an hour but only if the physician can commit to at least 6 shifts per month
The Emergency Department at VAMC operates 24 hours per day 7 days per week including Federal Holidays
Monday through Friday:
One (1) Emergency Room (ER) Physician 5:00pm to 5:00am
One (1) ER Physician 8:00pm to 7:00am
One (1) ER Physician 7:30pm to 7:30am
One (1) Mid-Level 5:00pm to 9:00pm
Saturday and Sunday:
One (1) ER Physician 7:30am to 7:30pm
One (1) ER Physician 11:30am to 7:30pm
One (1) ER Physician 7:30pm to 7:30am
One (1) ER Physician 7:30pm to 7:30am
One (1) ER Physician 10:00am to 6:00pm
One (1) ER Physician 8:00pm to 7:00am
One (1) Mid-Level 8:00am to 4:00pm
One (1) Mid-Level 10:00am to 6:00pm
*Holiday staffing (on holidays that fall on weekday)

Overview:
The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) in Houston TX is seeking highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our dynamic healthcare team. As part of the Department of Veterans Affairs you will provide comprehensive emergency medical care to our nations Veterans while working in a collaborative patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide diagnosis treatment and management for patients presenting to the Emergency Department with acute illness and injury
  • Perform clinical evaluations diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Supervise residents medical students and advanced practice providers as part of academic and clinical teaching responsibilities
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives peer reviews and hospital committees as assigned
  • Maintain compliance with VA policies accreditation standards and evidence-based clinical guidelines
Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship (required)
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (through ABEM or AOBEM)
  • DEA Registration for prescribing controlled substances (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (American Heart Association)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (AHA)
Preferred / Highly Recommended
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (AHA)
  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) (American College of Surgeons)
  • Critical Care or Ultrasound Certification (if applicable to subspecialty interest)
  • Active unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • Previous VA or academic medical center experience preferred but not required
