Description of Work
The North Carolina Zoo is growing and it is an exciting time to join our team! The Zoo is seeking a dynamic efficient and enthusiastic individual to serve as Public Relations Coordinator. The Public Relations Coordinator position will have the highly visible and important role of organizing and representing the North Carolina Zoo at public speaking engagements priority tours and other writing or PR assignments as needed under the direction of the Zoos Public Relations Officer. The key focus of the PR Coordinator is to influence the public perception of the brand promote the Zoos mission and market the Zoo experience. This person must be engaging professional in appearance a strategic and analytical thinker quick decision-maker self-starter flexible and an excellent written/verbal communicator. The Public Relations Coordinator will work on the Communications team and regularly assist with external stakeholder presentations media escorts and professional writing assignments.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $41655 - $50000

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in communications public relations public affairs journalism English or related field from an appropriately accredited institution

an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Veterans and National Guard Preference
Applicants seeking Veterans Preference must attach a DD Form 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty along with the state application.
Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS) along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
Applicants who are former member of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22 along with the state application.
