The Role:

Reporting to the Director Patient Access Services the Associate Director Access & Reimbursement (ADAR) will be acritical member ofthe Market Access teamtocreate patient impactby providing field access support and education to healthcare professionals (HCPs) helping to maximize patient access to products. This role will be an empowered andconfident subject matter expert in supportingcomplexpatient cases through understanding the payer landscape customer engagement and internal cross-functional collaboration.

This role will support the patient accessstrategy and operations working closely with the Patient Support (PS) team on patient cases and program oversight. We are seeking aninnovativeleader with deepexpertisein new launches specialty oncology accesshealthcarestaffengagement and patient services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides education to HCPs and their staff on payer-specific coverage criteria and documentation requirements to help address access and reimbursement barriers for prescriptions already in progress. Delivers guidance on access support including processes forms payer-related coverage challenges and the Nuvalent patient financial support programs.
  • Educate HCP staff on patient support(PS)programsresources enrollment processesandapplication updatesso thattheyareinformedon how to useour PS offerings & status of their patients.
  • Proactivelyidentifyand help to resolve payer account and patient accessbarriersusing data-driven insights dashboards and cross-functional collaboration.
  • As the PS &payerlandscape subject matter expert coordinate with specialty pharmacy PS operationspayer market access medical affairs and other cross-functional colleagues to support patient access.
  • Triage and resolve patient support related questions and access concerns escalated from field teams ensuringtimelyand compliant inform regional field facing teams on PS programs geographical payer nuances access challengetrendsand program internal and external access tools & training materials.
  • Develop patient access and reimbursement strategies with cross-functional teams whilemonitoringregulatory payer &industry trendsto proactively & compliantly addressaccesschallenges.
  • Support oversight of patient support programs (financial assistance & non-commercial specialty pharmacy); ensuring accountabilityforpositivecustomer impact & regularly with PS operations teams on patient case updatesand escalateasrequired.

  • Provider Engagement: Building strong relationships with healthcare providers and office Highly responsive; ability to support escalations outside of local time zone working hours as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering with sales market access patient services and medical affairs. Foster a culture of empowerment collaboration and a focus on patient impact.
  • Team Leadership: Proven leadership and conflict resolution skills. Encourage collaboration innovation and new ideas while integrating information from various sources.
  • Clear Communication: Highly effective presentation communication emotional intelligence andfacilitation& to explain complex reimbursement processes in simple terms.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline reimbursement workflows.
  • Adaptability: Managing evolving payer landscapes and policy changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorsdegreeis required.
  • 8 years of biopharma experience including.3 yearsofoncologyfield reimbursement manager (FRM)/oraccess reimbursement manager (ARM)experience with established relationships at majoroncologycenters across the country.
  • Extensive experience in oral / specialty oncology accessrare diseaselaunchprogram implementation and payer navigation.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer engagement.
  • Previousexperience supporting HCP staff through complex reimbursement barriers prior authorizationsappealsand providingeducation.
  • Knowledge ofall nationalhealth insurers(commercial & government)includingbilling/coding.
  • Highly organized team player excellent communicator problem solver andpresenter.
  • Able to workeffectively & autonomouslythroughambiguity.
  • All activities mustcomply withHIPAA OIG FDA regulations and Nuvalent policies. This is a non-promotional role.
  • Previousexperience in a clinical roleNSCLCPatient Services program oversight & vendor management preferred.
  • Prior Authorization Certified Specialistpreferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%(customer engagementsinternal& vendormeetings).

The targeted salary range below reflects what Nuvalent reasonably and in good faith expects to offer for this position at the time of posting but the final salary determination may be within or outside this range based on various factors including but not limited to experience skills education and market factors. The range will be reviewed regularly and is subject to change.

Annual Salary Range

$185000 - $210000 USD
