Job Duties: Attorney will be expected to aggressively litigate all aspects of lawsuits and arbitrations--from filing new complaints/demands research/writing conducting written discovery taking depositions attending hearings trial and negotiating settlements. This position requires 50 hours a week or more of work.

Qualifications/Skills: 3 to 5 years litigation experience handling cases in state or federal court or arbitration (JAMS or AAA). Strong organization oral and written communication and analytical skills. Deposition experience important but not required. Trial/arbitration experience a plus. Detail oriented adherence to deadlines ability to multi-task. Ability to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced environment. Ability to draft and send assorted documents to clients counsel and courts as needed such as correspondence deposition notices briefs motions orders complaints and discovery. Familiar with a variety of computer applications and internet programs: Word Excel Outlook Litify Salesforce and ECF/Pacer.

Compensation: Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Competitive benefit package including salary paid for health/dental insurance 401(k) generous PTO CLE and parking. Origination bonuses and discretionary bonuses based on participation in cases available.

ABOUT THE JOB:

We are a preeminent wage and hour firm that is dedicated to representing workers who have been cheated out of overtime. We are based in Houston Texas but our practice is

nationwide. Our firm regularly represents workers in class and collective actions in state and federal courts as well as private arbitrations through the AAA and JAMS. We represent individuals in cases involving misclassification of employees and contractors off-the-clock issues regular rate violationsstatutory penalties PAGA and any other matter involving wage and hour problems in the workplace.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a smart litigator experience prosecuting or defending class/collective claims knowledge of FLSA and related state law claims would be beneficial.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Advocacy: Attorney will represent clients in depositions hearings mediations and other legal proceedings. Attorney will prepare for and participate in trials and arbitration hearings with

the assigned Partner.

Discovery: Attorney will be responsible for drafting written discovery deficiency noticessubpoenas and assisting legal team to respond to discovery served on clients. Attorney will

assist in review of documents produced in response to discovery.

Legal Research/Analysis: Attorney will be responsible for working with our briefing team to conduct legal research and writing. Attorney will need to be familiar with the applicable

laws precedent and relevant authorities related to the specific claims and defenses at issue in each case.

Drafting Legal Documents: Attorney will prepare or assist in preparation of legal pleadingsmotions correspondence and other required documents.

Settlement Negotiations: Attorney will be responsible for engaging in settlement negotiations participating in mediation and attending formal/informal settlement

Conferences and settlement motion practice.

Case Management/Collaboration: Attorney will assist team in the proactive management of docket of active/settled cases.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Active bar membership in good standing

5-10 years of litigation experience

Significant experience handling depositions and in-court advocacy at hearings

Some experience handling evidentiary and legal arguments as well as direct- and cross-

examination of witnesses at trial.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to handle complex legal issues with precision and professionalism

High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Proficient in legal research tools and litigation software

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience with trial preparation and presentation and with managing high-stakes litigation

Proven ability to lead and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$150000 to $200000 salary based on experience

Case specific bonuses based on origination results and/or time expended

Bonuses based on total hours recorded annually

401(k)
