Academic Mentor
Are you a high-achieving graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree looking to gain paid school-based experience before pursuing teacher training
A well-regarded mixed secondary academy in North West London is seeking a confident and motivated Academic Mentor to support pupils across core subjects from February 2026.
This Academic Mentor role is ideal for graduates with previous tutoring experience who are passionate about education and keen to make a measurable impact on pupil progress up to GCSE level.
Academic Mentor Role
- Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group academic support
- Support pupils across English Maths or Science
- Provide tailored intervention for GCSE students
- Act as a positive role model supporting behaviour confidence and engagement
- Work closely with teaching staff to raise attainment and outcomes
- Full-time term-time only position within a secondary school
Contract Information
- Start date: February 2026
- Term-time only contract until June 2026
- Opportunity to extend into the next academic year for strong Academic Mentors
- Clear progression route into teacher training for high-performing candidates
Academic Mentor Requirements
- Graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree
- Strong academic background in a core subject
- Experience tutoring up to GCSE level (essential)
- Confident professional and reliable in a school environment
