About the Role
The Assistant Manager HEMM plays a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation and optimal availability of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs) across site operations. This position involves leading multi-shift maintenance teams overseeing preventive and breakdown maintenance strategies and driving continuous improvement in equipment performance. The incumbent will be responsible for troubleshooting complex mechanical hydraulic and electrical issues conducting root cause analysis and maintaining accurate maintenance records. With a strong focus on safety compliance and operational efficiency the Assistant Manager ensures seamless 247 site operations while serving as a key liaison between field teams and headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of HEMM and HCVs to ensure maximum uptime and performance
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maintain high equipment availability
- Lead and supervise maintenance teams across all three shifts ensuring consistent execution and accountability
- Conduct timely troubleshooting and root cause analysis to minimize downtime and recurring failures
- Plan schedule and document all maintenance activities with accurate record-keeping
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance across all operations
- Coordinate effectively with headquarters and site teams to align maintenance strategies with operational goals
Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven expertise in mechanical hydraulic and electrical systems of heavy machinery
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in HEMM mining or construction equipment maintenance
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills across shift-based environments
- Strong planning organizational and documentation abilities with attention to detail
- BE / BTech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
- Physically fit and available for site-based work with shift rotation
- COVID vaccination preferred
