Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Career Services the Employer Relations Coordinator provides employer engagement activities and career event programming to connect undergraduate graduate and alumni students in the College of Science and Mathematics with science and mathematics industry professionals. This role develops and maintains employer partnerships recruits industry participants for career fairs and panels and manages career-related events that expand experiential learning and workforce opportunities for CSAM students. Success in this role requires strong attention-to-detail and the ability to see events through from inception to completion.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with the Director of Career Services to manage and execute the CSAM Employer Engagement Plan.
Establish and sustain relationships with local state and national employers to expand recruitment of CSAM students and alumni.
Collaborate with employers to identify hiring needs and promote CSAM academic programs.
Recruit employers for career fairs internships cooperative education employer-led information sessions and professional panels.
Conduct site visits with employers to strengthen partnerships and connect students to industry professionals.
Approve and manage job postings in Handshake ensuring opportunities are communicated to students.
Plan organize and execute career-related events including career fairs alumni networking nights employer campus visits and professional development workshops.
Demonstrate meticulous attention-to-detail in event planning logistics and follow-up.
Ensure events are carried through successfully from inception to completion delivering high-quality experiences for students and employers.
Coordinate with CSAM departments to promote recruitment events and experiential learning opportunities.
Manage employer engagement and event logistics in Handshake and other university systems.
Partner with university career services staff to align employer engagement efforts across colleges.
Work with employers to develop branding and marketing strategies that maximize student-to-employer engagement.
Maintain a visible presence for CSAM Career Services through online platforms and event promotion.
Utilize platforms such as Handshake LinkedIn and Montclair Connect to support employer engagement and event delivery.
Track employer involvement and event outcomes to inform continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Masters degree from accredited college or university in higher education counseling career services business science and mathematics-related fields or a closely related discipline
Minimum of two years of experience in career services employer relations recruitment or event coordination
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage employers faculty and students
Demonstrated ability to plan organize and execute events from inception to completion with attention to detail
Proficiency in career services platforms and technology tools (e.g. Handshake LinkedIn Zoom Microsoft Office Google Suite)
Knowledge of workforce trends and hiring practices in the science and mathematics industries
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
Flexibility to attend evening or weekend events as needed
PREFERRED:
Experience developing employer engagement strategies and managing recruitment events in higher education
Familiarity with science and mathematics career pathways and experiential learning opportunities (internships cooperative education research placements)
Strong marketing and social media skills to promote employer branding and student engagement
