As a Mechanisms Technician at Impulse you will support the assembly integration test and maintenance of spacecraft mechanisms and mechanical subsystems. This role works hands-on with precision hardware that must perform reliably in launch and space environments following detailed procedures and strict quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble integrate and test spacecraft mechanisms including: hinges latches deployment systems actuators and release mechanisms
- Follow detailed work instructions engineering drawings and procedures for flight and development hardware
- Perform mechanical inspections torque verification alignment and fit checks
- Support functional testing environmental testing and troubleshooting of mechanisms
- Document build steps nonconformances and test results in manufacturing and quality systems
- Maintain cleanliness and configuration control of flight hardware
- Work closely with engineers quality and other technicians to resolve issues and improve processes
- Support rework repair and root-cause investigations as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Technical background in mechanical systems aerospace manufacturing or related field (trade school military or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical assembly
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T as well as assembly procedures and specifications
- Proficient with hand tools torque tools and measurement equipment (calipers micrometers torque wrenches)
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 8 years of hands-on experience with mechanisms/components working on aerospace spacecraft satellite launch vehicle or defense manufacturing
- Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled assembly environments
- 4 years of hands-on experience with mechanism testing (functional deployment or life-cycle testing)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required
- Willingness to work flexible hours overtime or shifts as needed to support program milestones

Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills education experience technical capabilities and internal addition to base salary for full-time hires you may also be eligible for long-term incentives in the
