Overview of the role:

As an Analyst within the Retirement consulting business in India you will work as a part of project teams that are focused on performing actuarial valuations of employee benefits provisions for corporates as well as special projects around the design and implementation of broader benefit plans. Clients include both subsidiaries of global companies and large Indian companies.You will work closely with a variety of senior consultants and qualified actuaries who will help and guide you to increase your knowledge in the employee benefits area and sharpen your skills all while providing a blend of client facing skills as well.

The Analyst position offers an opportunity for professional development and involvement in many areas of Retirement Consulting like:Accounting for Employee benefits: Actuarial valuations under relevant Indian and International accounting standards. For employee benefits like; Gratuity Leave Long term awards Provident Fund Pension Post-Retirement Medical etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan design: Advising on appropriate employee retirement plans for companies modelling impact on future costs and building business cases using industry market benchmarking.
  • Retirement Advisory services: Providing companies with consulting advice on governance and best practices in administering their retirement plans; as well as opportunities in working in Merger & Acquisition transactions.

Performance Objectives

Clients

  • Work on all stages of an actuarial valuation from validating data received from the client to liability calculation with the final step of reporting results to the client in the form of actuarial reports
  • Liaising and coordination with clients including face to face client meetings
  • Gain deep understanding of the Indian and International accounting standards and technical aspects associated with benefits consulting in India
  • Support in Special Projects (Actuarial and Non-Actuarial) which involve plan design restructuring of employee benefit schemes and other areas of general consulting
  • Manage small to medium sized clients independently - Creating project plans Monitoring progress to deadlines and budget client interaction and managing regular status meeting calls
  • Ensuring appropriate and effective communication with clients and internal team members

Excellence

  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues and consultants to meet client expectations
  • Solid technical and programing abilities on Quantify and other internal software / tools
  • Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes
  • Develop a strong understanding of the retirement benefit plans and industry and become familiar with the overall benefits environment in India
  • Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress through actuarial exams
  • Manage time effectively between multiple assignments at a time
  • Adhere to all predefined steps while carrying out the work ensuring Willis Towers Watson Professional Excellence quality model.

Qualifications

The Requirement:

  • Work experience of2-4 years into Pensions and Employee Benefits domain
  • Bachelors degree in commerce Economics Mathematics Statistics Business any Engineering or an analytical subject
  • Pursing actuarial science and given relevant actuarial papers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and manage time effectively
  • Good analytical and research capabilities with the ability to challenge conventional thinking
  • Self-driven achiever with a value for teamwork collaboration decisiveness and integrity
  • Proactive approach to meeting clients needs.
  • Conceptual; ability to go beyond the details and see the big picture
  • Passion to acquire share and disseminate new information and knowledge
  • Evidence of good interest in relationship building and client management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly in Excel
  • Ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
