DescriptionAccurately maintain the general ledger and ensure generally accepted accounting principles. Determining actualcostsof manufacturing or providing a service scrutinizing associated company expenses and analyzing profitability.
Essential Functions
- Cost Accounting for manufacturing environment.
- Inventory valuation and reporting.
- Preparing journal entries analyses and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes. Maintain back up documentation for assigned accounts.
- Metrics Reporting.
- Accounting department special projects.
- Provide accruals as required for those expenses that are not available prior to Month/Year End according to GAAP.
- Continuously exploring opportunities to add value to the Accounting Department.
QualificationsKnowledge Skills and Abilities
- Detail oriented
- Knowledge of GAAP and Revenue Recognition Standard 606
- Aptitude for working with numbers with high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proven ability to work with highly confidential Information
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel Word and Outlook
- Aptitude for technology and understanding of basic database structures
- Positive team player
- Problem solving and investigation skills
- Work without supervision
- Excellent customer service
Education Training and Experience
- 4-year accounting degree plus 3 years experience in the field preferred.
- Cost accounting experience in a process production environment.
- Experience with Sage 300CRE/Timberline strongly preferred
- Experience designing and implementing efficient processes and systems
- Accounting certification (CMA CPA) or interest in obtaining certification strongly preferred but not required.
- Valid Drivers License
