Your Impact:

As the Senior Advisor / Deputy Agency Chief of Staff you will help translate the Commissioners priorities into coordinated action across the agency and its partners. By strengthening communication between the Commissioners Office agency leadership City Hall and external stakeholders you will play a key role in keeping major initiatives moving forward and ensuring leadership has the information needed to make timely decisions. Your work will help drive alignment across teams elevate the agencys policy and program priorities and support the successful delivery of initiatives that advance the agencys mission.

Your Role:

The Senior Advisor / Deputy Agency Chief of Staff supports the Commissioner and Chief of Staff in advancing the agencys strategic priorities and high-impact initiatives. This role helps coordinate work across agency divisions City Hall and external partners to ensure the Commissioners agenda is effectively implemented. The position combines strategic advising project management and external engagement ensuring the Commissioner is prepared for key decisions meetings and public engagements while maintaining strong alignment across internal teams and stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:

-Support the Commissioner and Chief of Staff in advancing strategic priorities policy initiatives and high-impact agency projects.
-Coordinate across divisions City Hall and external partners to ensure timely implementation of the Commissioners Deputy Mayors and Mayors priorities.
-Ensure the Commissioner is equipped with key information for decision-making and prepared for meetings public appearances and speaking engagements.
-Develop briefing materials coordinate meetings and manage follow-up on priority initiatives and commitments.
-Represent the Commissioner or Chief of Staff at external meetings and events and maintain relationships with elected officials advocates and other stakeholders.
-Support external affairs communications and government relations efforts including legislative engagement and public hearings.
-Facilitate coordination and information sharing across internal teams and external partners to advance agency initiatives and strengthen collaboration.

Preferred skills
-Strong project and team management: Ability to manage complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
-Government and policy expertise: Knowledge of New York City government housing policy and urban development.
-Exceptional communication: Strong written verbal and presentation skills with the ability to prepare high-quality materials for internal and external audiences.
-Strategic judgment: Ability to analyze complex issues identify solutions and escalate matters appropriately.
-Collaborative leadership: Proven ability to work across teams build relationships and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position. 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four (4) years of responsible supervisory administrative or consultative experience in a public agency or other large-scale organization. Graduate work in an appropriate field may be substituted for up to two years of the experience required; or
