Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a driven Electrical Engineer with water and wastewater experience to join our Resilience Water team. This hybrid role can be based in any of our Ohio offices or in Detroit Michigan and offers the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects that protect water resources strengthen communities and advance sustainable resilient solutions.

As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team youll contribute to the planning design and delivery of complex electrical systems for water wastewater and industrial facilitiesfrom concept through construction. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical depth project collaboration and making a tangible impact through essential infrastructure.

Role accountabilities:

In this role you will:

  • Plan design and coordinate electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities including power distribution motor control systems VFDs lighting communications fire alarm and control systems
  • Produce high-quality electrical design deliverables such as one-line diagrams control schematics plans specifications and design calculations using Autodesk and Bentley platforms
  • Support project delivery by assisting with budgets schedules and coordination to ensure projects are executed successfully within scope schedule and budget
  • Perform power system studies and analyses using tools such as ETAP SKM Power Tools or similar software to support safe reliable and resilient system performance
  • Provide engineering support during construction through submittal and shop drawing reviews RFI responses field inspections and collaboration with clients contractors and internal teams

Key Skills & Experience:

The ideal candidate brings experience in industrial electrical design and power distribution with a strong understanding of equipment layout and system integration. You are organized self-directed and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting project deadlines. Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines are essential. This role is well-suited for engineers motivated by sustainability resilience and the opportunity to make a lasting impact through critical water infrastructure.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline
  • 5 years of experience supporting water/wastewater projects
  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE)

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
