DevOps Engineer
Location: Englewood CO / Greenwood Village CO
Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite in a week)
Duration: Contract (12 months)
Overview:
The Mobile Device Software Team is seeking a DevOps Engineer to work on mission-critical projects contributing to commitment of building and expanding intelligent Mobile/WIFI capabilities.
As a member of the Mobile Device Software organization youll be required to work in an agile team environment where professional respect and communication is key. Because we work on the cutting edge of a lot of technologies we need someone who is a creative problem solver resourceful in getting things done and productive working independently or collaboratively. You must be fun energetic outgoing and willing to go the extra mile for your teammates.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for building AWS infrastructure deploying product updates identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet our customers needs. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Cloud Architecture Principles and will work with developers and engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended. The DevOps engineer will also help plan projects and be involved in project management decisions. You will be:
- Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure
- Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to developers
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
- Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
- Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions
- Performing root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
- Developing scripts to automate visualization
- Designing procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
Required Qualifications:
- Experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub workflows
- Expert with Terraforms
- Past experience with AWS infrastructure
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL
- Problem-solving attitude
- Team player mindset and a great sense of humor.
- Working experience in Agile software development and leveraging continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Willingness to lead mentor and advise other engineering team members.
Related Work Experience:
- 5 years overall DevOps experience
- 5 years experience building cloud development (AWS)
- 5 years of configuring and managing databases (MySQL Mongo Dynamo DB) and SQL
- 5 years experience of managing production infrastructure using tools like Terraform CloudFormation etc.
- 5 years of experience in configuration management (e.g. Ansible Chef Puppet or similar)
