| Position Summary: | The Communications Coordinator supports the operational administrative and technical functions of the Public Safety Communications unit. Reporting directly to the Public Safety Director of Communications and Compliance this position plays a key role in ensuring effective communication services across the organization. The Coordinator assists with a wide range of operational matters including radio system maintenance scheduling certification coordination software and systems management and record keeping. The role also provides dispatching support as needed. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the Coordinator will collaborate with contractors internal departments and various committees to support communication operations and public safety services. |

| Minimum Qualifications: | High school diploma or equivalent. Physical ability to perform all job-related duties. Two (2) years of proven experience in a Public Safety Communications environment (e.g. dispatch/911 center including some exposure to operational support scheduling or administrative functions. If not currently certified must successfully obtain Ohio LEADS and Computerized Criminal History certification (CCH) within 30 days of employment and maintain certification throughout tenure. Strong organizational verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in standard office software including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) |

| Preferred Qualifications: | While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following: Previous experience as a University Public Safety Communications Officer/Dispatcher. Proficiency in management of personnel records and management of confidential or sensitive record and information Experience working with managing or providing support for public safety communication software systems such as: o Automated Record Management System (ARMS) o Electronic access control client systems o Central monitoring equipment |
