Role Description
The Reliability Analyst is a customer-facing role that is primarily responsible for transforming Kal Tire technological insights into actionable plans to safely enhance tire performance and truck productivity for Kal Tires customers. Technological insights may be obtained from several sources including but not limited to TireSight HaulSight TPMS Scale Data and Volumetric Scanning.
By integrating the functions of TOMS planning and condition monitoring with technological insights the role identifies recuring patterns formulates preventive and corrective strategies and ensures their effective execution with customer and site teams.
The Reliability Analyst will play a key role in supporting the promotion and implementation of Kal Tire technologies at customer locations as well as the ongoing oversight of such technologies that have been deployed to site. Reliability Analysts will support multiple MTG customers across Canada.
Core Responsibilities
Data Interpretation & Insight Generation
- Proactively analyze data from deployed technologies to identify patterns anomalies and opportunities.
- Extract actionable insights from data to formulate preventive and corrective strategies.
- Use condition monitoring data to forecast potential challenges and propose solutions.
- Work closely with customer teams to help ensure they have the information they need to turn technological insights into actionable plans.
Planning & Strategy Execution
- Review and utilize data from deployed technologies ensuring an effective integration with TOMS planning.
- Collaborate with the site supervisor or customer planning team to ensure the monthly tire maintenance plan aligns with the tire management strategy.
- Use condition monitoring data to identify patterns potential risks and preventive measures to improve tire performance and productivity.
- Collaborate with Site Supervisors to create action plans based on condition monitoring insights.
Condition Monitoring & Analysis
- Monitor deployed technologies remotely for optimal functionality.
- Where Kal Tire Technology is the result of a third-party partnership provide feedback to the third party where required. Can include product changes enhancements false positives or other product improvements.
- Analyze system-generated work orders in TOMS ensuring relevance and accuracy.
- Review and interpret images using specific FLIR tools and research lab application.
Communication & Collaboration
- Support the sales and on-site teams by promoting the various Kal Tire technological services to customers where it makes sense.
- Support the sales and on-site teams by taking a lead role in the implementation of agreed to technologies.
- Ongoing collaboration with the on-site teams and productivity services technicians to identify and prioritize (technological system maintenance) issues that require attention.
- Serve as the primary point of communication for internal and external stakeholders regarding insights derived from deployed technologies.
- Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders including Kal Tire site teams planners Productivity Services Specialists and customers.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the TOMS system and business rules.
- Ensure all relevant parties are updated on changes to the tire work plan.
TOMS & System Surveillance
- Oversight for deployed technologies and efficient generation of work orders in TOMS.
- Manage the system health check KPIs for deployed technologies.
- Regularly review business rules and make recommendations for optimization.
Performance Evaluation
- Monitor and report on KPIs including system health metrics work order efficiency and compliance rates.
- Review downtime service work trends and planned/unplanned lock times to identify opportunities for improvement.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in mining tire service management or a related field.
- Experience with EAM software particularly TOMS.
- Demonstrated expertise in asset condition monitoring or a planning environment.
- Ability to work remotely and on ones initiative.
- Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with data visualization software (e.g. PBI).
- Degree level education or higher is considered an advantage.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Mining industry operations experience with respect to mining tires and heavy equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of mine maintenance management processes and systems.
- Ability to influence stakeholders across the organization without direct authority.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with team members managers stakeholders and external entities each of which require cooperative efforts on both sides.
Education:
- Reliability or Industrial Engineering or similar relevant working experience.
- Continuous improvement management or similar relevant working experience.
Special Requirements:
- Occasional weekend and evening work by exception.
- Occasional travel to Kal Tire or customer locations for in person meetings.
- Position may be based anywhere geographically in Canada.
- Can be office or home-based.
- Bilingual: English French is considered an advantage.
