Salary: Stipend Amount; $3250.00

Position Overview:The After-School Middle School Theater Coordinator leads an inclusive theater program that introduces students to musical theater performance technical theater and the overall production process. Through a combination of instruction and rehearsals students build foundational theater skills and work toward a themed end-of-year Showcase/Cabaret performance. The program emphasizes creativity confidence collaboration and student choice.
Program Snapshot:Students gain hands-on experience in both onstage and backstage roles while learning how theater productions are created. All participants are guaranteed a role in the final Showcase/Cabaret featuring musical theater numbers around a unifying theme (e.g. Movie Songs Musicals Through the Decades Broadway Hits). Optional auditions will be held in February for students interested in solos duets or small-group performances
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and facilitate after-school theater sessions combining instruction rehearsal and creative exploration
- Introduce students to musical theater performance and technical theater roles
- Design rehearse and direct a themed Showcase/Cabaret performance
- Ensure inclusive participation for all enrolled students
- Coordinate optional auditions and assign performance and backstage roles
- Create a safe supportive and confidence-building environment
- Create a safe supportive and confidence-building environment
- Supervise students and maintain consistent attendance and behavior expectations
- Communicate regularly with school administration regarding program needs and logistics
Qualifications Required:- Experience in theater musical theater drama education or a related field
- Ability to engage and manage middle school students
- Strong organization communication and leadership skills
- Experience with youth productions preferred
- Technical theater experience is a plus but not required
- Must successfully pass Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and national fingerprinting screening (CHRI)

- Solo and small-group roles are optional and audition-based; not all students will receive these roles
