Data & Insights Analyst

The Business Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) team has a simple mission: we turn massive amounts of data into actionable insights that ensure seamless secure commerce experiences across Visas physical and digital eco-system. Our analytic and data professionals deliver on this mission by implementing data-based solutions analysis and insights targeted at maintaining security reducing fraud rates and preserving the integrity of the largest payment processing network in the world.

Data analytics and insight delivery are critical pillars of the BI&A organization. This position is an essential component of delivering against the promise and security of the Visa brand. To be successful you will use strong analytical skills contextual business sense and a creative flair to solve real-world challenges for Visa and our clients. Your expertise and insights will serve as a beacon to guide business decisions based on data. The role has regular exposure to senior leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities

The Data & Insights Analyst role will partner with various stakeholders responsible for driving global analytics initiatives focused on ecosystem security and integrity by delivering data-driven insights to internal and external stakeholders. This individual will work across our various functions within the Global Risk team to support data-driven decisions for our clients and internal functional leaders. This person will have the ability to build and leverage the connections between people systems data and technologies to deliver bespoke insights to clients. This person is experienced in balancing a holistic global view with customized regional delivery which is crucial to success. Through collaboration with our client-facing teams and functional leaders you will bring data and insights to bear which deliver mutual tangible value to our organization and our clients through improved ecosystem security. You must be able to deliver on strategic initiatives and influence outcomes independently. This position demands an energetic curious analytic business expert who can bring high-quality insights to bear and compellingly deliver them to drive business value.

• Leverage enormous amounts of data and analytics to identify trends and patterns in fraud and dispute cases enhancing ecosystem security and integrity.
• Be an expert at getting to the root of a problem defining business objectives and formalizing data requirements especially in a fast-paced fluid environment.
• Serve as the subject matter expert from an analytics and insights perspective.
• Perform in-depth analysis and provide insights on global initiatives and various regional priorities.
• Contribute to a high performing culture that becomes the benchmark for excellence at Visa mentor and develop more junior team members to ensure we build talent from within
• Compare client performance against industry best practices inject new perspectives with a shrewd eye toward identifying performance and security improvement opportunities.  
• Move the organization from interesting to actionable with recommendations that drive lower fraud rates more seamless commerce and improved experiences for players in our ecosystem.
• Craft meaningful presentations and insights from complex data with content that presents opportunities in an accurate understandable and engaging manner.
• Ensure data-driven decision making is a priority for clients colleagues and other internal stakeholders.
• Translate understanding of Visas rules and compliance programs into client engagement strategies that yield performance benefits.
• Cultivate cross-functional partnerships building relationship capital that facilitates the advancement of holistic/strategic initiatives.

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. 

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:
2 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree OR 5 years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD)
2 years of work experience with a bachelors degree
1 year of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD)
Big data experience (Hadoop Hive Spark) data visualization experience (Tableau Power BI) and/or SQL experience are critical skills this role is about both doing and delivering.
5 years of progressive success in roles of increasing responsibility.
3 years working in analytics risk management consulting strategic operations or insight delivery.
Proven experience in risk analytics strategic advisory roles and AI integration.
Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
Ability to identify and leverage market trends for strategic advantage.
Knowledge of Visas products services and client engagement strategies.
Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of various data environments and tools.
High-level understanding of manipulating data from a variety of sources.
Strong verbal written motivational and interpersonal skills are required.
