Job Summary

  • Design develop and implement automated manufacturing processes equipment and work cells
    • 3D modeling and tooling design capability required.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual or inefficient processes to improve productivity and quality
  • Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning and production ramp-up
  • Develop process flow diagrams equipment layouts control concepts and technical specifications
  • Collaborate with controls engineers equipment suppliers and integrators on system design and validation
  • Perform process capability studies cycle time analysis and ROI evaluations for automation initiatives
  • Troubleshoot and optimize automated equipment to ensure reliable repeatable performance
  • Support new product introductions by developing manufacturable and automatable processes
  • Create and maintain documentation including work instructions PFMEAs control plans and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards quality systems and regulatory requirements
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel on new automated systems
  • Develop and maintain APQP documents such as PFMEA flow charts etc.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation such as Set-up Instructions and Work Instructions.
  • Lead and/or provide input for the specification design build and launch of new processes.
  • Lead and/or participate in procurement installation and runoff of new equipment.
  • Lead and/or participate in implementing Engineering Change Requests
  • Analyze existing and future production capacity requirements.
  • Incorporate needs of Production into project and process activities.
  • Develop Preventive Maintenance and spare parts plan for equipment.
  • Provide and maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Develop engineering practices and procedures to improve existing systems.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to address safety quality and productivity for the assigned area.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to evaluate technician training gaps and recommended training.
  • Conduct regular audits (Quality- LPA Work Station 5S Operator etc.)
  • Controls experience preferred:
    1. Safety PLC
    2. Siemens
    3. ABB Industrial Robot/Kassow Cobot

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Metallurgy from an accredited institution with minimum 3 yrs. experience in a manufacturing or other relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with machining process or heat treating processes preferred
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Strong presentation communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical problem solver; experience with RedX methodology or other problem solving tools
