Do you enjoy working with your hands and seeing your work come together Are you energized by building testing and assembling components that support cutting-edge research We are excited to welcome anAssembly Technicianto TRIUMFs collaborative technical this hands-on role you will support the assembly of innovative scientific and experimental systems that enable world-class research. Working alongside engineers technicians and researchers you will play a key part in turning designs into reality while contributing to a workplace that values precision teamwork and continuous learning. Your other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Kitting of parts for modules or printed circuit boards ordering parts from outside suppliers inputting jobs into the TRIUMF machine shop
Constructing modules including electrical electronic and mechanical assembly and limited testing of completed modules
Ordering cable and connectors cutting cables and assembly using approved tooling
Testing using computer aided test setups and labeling as well as connector assemblies include BNC SHV SMA other coax systems ribbon HV MS modular systems and a wide variety of crimp assemblies
Working on surface mount assemblies including identification of components and manual soldering techniques
Keeping relevant records for TRIUMF accounting department and entering time sheets into computer system
You will also be required to successfully complete the TRIUMF in-house radiation safety training course and be designated as a TRIUMF Nuclear Energy Worker.
As our ideal candidate you will have good communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Your other qualifications include:
Broad knowledge in area of expertise.
Experience with wiring soldering/rework mechanical assembly and relevant equipment and tools
Knowledge of computer operation with the ability to learn TRIUMFs systems
At least 3-5 years of practical experience
Although not a requirement experience with Microsoft Office and Altium Designer software would be considered an asset to your application.
