Description
The Avionics Technician is responsible for performing maintenance service and repairs on aircraft avionics and electrical systems. All work must meet company standards and Transport Canada regulatory requirements.
What you will be responsible for:
Repair overhaul install calibrate and test aircraft instruments.
Repair overhaul install modify and test electrical aircraft systems and equipment.
Troubleshoot repair overhaul test install and inspect avionics systems and electronic components including communications navigation autopilot pitot-static in-flight entertainment radar AC & DC power distribution and lighting systems.
Certify that installation maintenance repair and overhaul activities meet Transport Canada performance and safety standards.
Manage installation and service projects as assigned by the Supervisor.
Compile work orders inspections and maintenance documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Ensure full traceability of parts issued from stores to assigned job tasks.
Report unserviceable tools and equipment.
Report unsafe or unapproved work conditions and practices to the Supervisor.
Attend training courses and obtain type endorsements on multiple aircraft types.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Actively participate in the company Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting safety hazards and incidents and promoting the company safety policy.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
Strong knowledge of avionics components and associated aircraft systems.
Experience on one or more of the following aircraft types considered an asset: Embraer 170/175 Boeing 737 NG Boeing 737 MAX.
Proven ability to liaise with internal departments and external agencies.
Thorough understanding of avionics systems components and aircraft integration.
Extensive knowledge of Transport Canada regulations and approved maintenance documentation processes.
Excellent communication organizational skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required.
First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must provide own tools.
