We are seeking a confident enthusiastic and experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Clacton starting as soon as possible. The Role
As a Year 5 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across all areas of the curriculum. You will foster resilience independence and positive learning behaviours in pupils while providing the academic social and emotional support necessary to ensure they thrive. A key part of your role will be preparing pupils for Year 6 and supporting their progress towards statutory assessments.
You will work closely with teaching assistants Key Stage 2 colleagues and senior leadership to maintain high standards and consistency across the year group. Communication with parents and carers is essential to support pupils learning and progress both at home and in school.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
Track and monitor pupil progress adapting teaching strategies as needed
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners
Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours
Maintain a structured inclusive and positive classroom environment
Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
Communicate regularly with parents and carers about pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school-wide initiatives
Support extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities
Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote pupil wellbeing
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 5
Be confident delivering literacy numeracy and foundation subjects
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work collaboratively as part of a professional and supportive team
