Job Summary

Would you like to join a global organization working to advance sustainable land management and responsible supply chains Do you want to help businesses meet sustainability and legal sourcing requirements while contributing to global impact We are now seeking an experienced Senior Sustainability and Market Development Specialist to strengthen our Sustainability Advisory (SER) services and represent Preferred by Nature in the UK and Ireland.

What you can expect:

As a Senior Sustainability Specialist you will deliver tailored sustainability advisory services to commercial clients supporting them in meeting:

  • Bespoke sustainability and responsible sourcing requirements

  • Regulatory due diligence obligations (e.g. UK Timber Regulation EU Deforestation Regulation EU Corporate Due Diligence Directive Lacey Act ILPA)

  • Supply chain risk management traceability and verification expectations

You will also play a key role in market development partnerships and client engagement helping to grow Preferred by Natures presence and impact in the UK & Ireland.

Working with us is never routine so in the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.

  • Deliver sustainability advisory services including policy development benchmarking supply chain mapping risk assessments and bespoke verification programmes

  • Design and manage complex advisory projects ensuring quality delivery budget control and high client satisfaction

  • Support sales and business development including scoping client needs preparing proposals and budgets and contributing to regional sales goals

  • Actively contribute to market development and partnerships representing Preferred by Nature at industry events and engaging key stakeholders

  • Track and analyse market trends regulations and emerging sustainability topics relevant to the UK & Ireland

Your first year with us:

Within three months you will:

  • Complete onboarding and gain a strong understanding of Preferred by Natures mission SER services quality standards and internal systems

  • Build relationships with key colleagues partners and priority stakeholders in the UK & Ireland

  • Begin contributing to advisory projects and sales activities through scoping policy reviews and client engagement support

Within six months you will:

  • Independently manage and deliver sustainability advisory projects with high-quality outputs on time and within budget

  • Lead client engagements prepare proposals and budgets and actively support regional sales targets

  • Increase Preferred by Natures market presence through participation in industry events and knowledge sharing

Within one year you will:

  • Act as a trusted senior advisor for key clients leading complex projects related to due diligence regulations sustainability systems and supply chain risk management

  • Play a leading role in regional market development partnerships and identification of new service opportunities

  • Represent Preferred by Nature through thought leadership speaking engagements and contributions to service and methodology development

Important that you:

  • A Bachelors degree in sustainability environmental management forestry agriculture natural resource management business law or related fields

  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability ESG supply chain due diligence forestry agriculture or environmental advisory

  • Strong knowledge of deforestation legality and sustainability regulations

  • Proven experience in project management client engagement and delivery of advisory services

  • Experience in market development partnerships or sales support

  • Strong written and spoken English with excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and engage diplomatically with diverse stakeholders

Would also be great but not necessary if you:

  • Having experience working in an NGO

  • EUDR knowledge
