We are seeking an enthusiastic nurturing and experienced Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Aylesbury starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about Key Stage 1 and committed to supporting pupils as they transition from EYFS into structured learning developing literacy numeracy and personal skills.

As a Year 1 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will encourage independence resilience and positive learning behaviours ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive. You will also collaborate closely with teaching assistants colleagues and parents to maintain high standards and continuity of learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 1 curriculum
Deliver engaging literacy numeracy and foundation subject lessons
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL
Promote independence resilience and positive behaviour in the classroom
Maintain a structured inclusive and stimulating learning environment
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and colleagues
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and whole-school initiatives
Support enrichment activities school events and extra-curricular opportunities
Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are strictly followed
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 1 ideally Year 1
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Show a clear commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work collaboratively as part of a professional and supportive team
