Job Summary: The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides perioperative nursing care to surgical patients supporting safe and effective procedures through clinical expertise coordination and adherence to aseptic standards in the OR/ASU setting.

Responsibilities
Provide direct perioperative nursing care before during and after surgical procedures.
Prepare operating rooms equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe and sterile environment.
Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout surgical cases.
Monitor patient status intraoperatively and respond promptly to clinical changes.
Ensure accurate documentation of perioperative care and patient outcomes.
Collaborate with the surgical team to prioritize patient safety and workflow efficiency.
May assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed.

Requirements
100-mile radius rule applies
13-week contract assignment
Weekend holiday and on-call coverage required
On-call response time of 30 minutes Required
Successful completion and passing of the final OR RN exam is mandatory and a condition of employment
Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical experience Preferred
Preceptorship charge and leadership experience Preferred
Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and aseptic technique
Ability to function effectively in high-stress environments with strong critical-thinking skills
Ability to recognize safety risks and safely assist with patient transfers and lifts
Knowledge of OR/ASU clinical equipment and instrumentation
Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias
Strong leadership prioritization delegation and communication skills

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required

Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred

License: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License or eligibility Required

Facility Details
Role: Operating Room RN
Schedule: 8-hour days with weekend holiday and call coverage
Contract Length: 13 weeks
