Job Summary
Role QA Lead (P&C Insurance)
Location Farmington Connecticut.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Automation QA Engineer with a strong background in API testing to join our fast-paced technology this role you will design develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for our RESTful and/or SOAP APIs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams-developers product managers DevOps and other QA engineers-to ensure our software meets the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with product owners and development teams to understand business requirements and acceptance criteria for API-related features.
Contribute to defining test strategies including both manual and automated approaches to effectively validate APIs.
Design develop and maintain robust automation test suites for API testing using tools such as Postman REST Assured or similar.
Build automated frameworks to streamline testing reduce manual overhead and ensure consistency.
Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (Jenkins GitLab CI etc.).
Execute manual and automated tests analyze results and identify root causes of defects.
Track and report defects using bug-tracking tools like JIRA ensuring defects are assigned to the correct teams and resolved in a timely manner.
Provide clear and concise test results metrics and status updates to stakeholders.
Participate in code reviews of test scripts and mentor team members on best practices for test automation.
Work closely with the development team to ensure APIs are designed for testability and reliability.
Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools or processes to improve test coverage reliability and speed.
Required Skills:
7 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Test Automation particularly with API-focused testing.
Solid background in designing and implementing automated frameworks for API testing (e.g. Postman REST Assured Karate SoapUI or similar tools).
Familiarity with web technologies RESTful/SOAP protocols JSON/XML structures and API design principles.
