Job Summary

Job Title: Medical Administration Specialist (Medical Credentialing Specialist)

Location: Soldier Readiness Processing Center (SRP) William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) 18511 Highlander Medics St Fort Bliss TX 79906 and outlying clinics.

Tentative Start Date: 1 April 2026

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0500-1630 (SRP operational hours). Up to 48 mission-driven overage hours per FTE may be required annually beyond regularly scheduled duty hours as authorized by the Government.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in health care administration business information management or a related medical discipline is required.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience within the last two (2) years performing medical credentialing privileging or medical staff administration functions in a hospital clinic or military medical treatment facility.

  • At least 50% of the time was spent focused on verifying and maintaining the credentials of licensed registered and/or certified medical personnel including but not limited to physicians advanced practice registered nurses physician assistants therapists etc.

  • Experience assembling reviewing and processing credentialing and privileging packets including verification of licenses education training work history and references.

  • Experience tracking credentialing actions and timelines to ensure providers are cleared prior to performing clinical duties.

  • License / Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.

  • Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) operations by managing medical credentialing and privileging actions for healthcare providers supporting mobilization demobilization redeployment and separation missions.

  • Assemble review and process credentialing and privileging packets for providers to ensure completeness and compliance with MTF and DHA requirements.

  • Verify provider credentials including licenses education training board status work history and references using approved primary source verification methods.

  • Track credentialing and privileging actions to ensure providers are approved prior to assignment to SRP clinical duties.

  • Coordinate with providers supervisors and credentialing committees to resolve missing or incomplete credentialing documentation.

  • Maintain accurate credentialing records and files in Government-designated credentialing systems.

  • Monitor expiration dates for licenses certifications and privileges and initiate renewal actions as required.

  • Support surge onboarding activities during high-volume MOB/DEMOB cycles by prioritizing credentialing actions tied to mission requirements.

  • Document credentialing actions and status updates in accordance with MTF administrative procedures.
