Construction Inspection Manager

Location: New York NY (or surrounding NY metro area)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Inspection Manager to oversee quality assurance compliance and on-site inspection activities across multiple construction projects in New York. This role ensures that construction work adheres to design specifications applicable regulations and industry best practices while driving safety and operational excellence.

• Lead coordinate and manage all construction inspection activities across assigned projects.

• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with contract documents codes standards and quality expectations.

• Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports logs and documentation.

• Identify non-conforming work and collaborate with project teams to ensure corrective action is taken.

• Coordinate with contractors engineers architects and municipal agencies regarding inspection findings and compliance issues.

• Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations (including NY building codes).

• Manage inspection staff and subcontractors; assign inspection tasks and provide technical guidance.

• Review construction plans and specifications for constructability and compliance.

• Participate in pre-construction planning and risk assessments.

• Support dispute resolution and provide expert recommendations on potential quality issues.

• Provide leadership in safety quality control and contractor performance monitoring.

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management Architecture or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum 5 7 years of experience in construction inspection quality control or related roles.

• Experience managing inspection teams and large-scale construction projects.

• Strong knowledge of NY building codes industry standards and safety regulations.

• Excellent communication report writing and organizational skills.

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans specifications and technical drawings.

• Proficiency with inspection tools and software; familiarity with digital documentation and field reporting systems.

• Professional certifications such as AIC (Associate Constructor) CCI (Certified Construction Inspector) PE (Professional Engineer) or equivalent.

• Familiarity with civil structural and MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) systems.

• Experience with municipal/state inspections and permitting processes in New York.

• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
