The Division Manager Quality Assurance will lead develop and oversee all quality management and food safety activities across METRO Pakistan. This role ensures compliance with METRO Global QA standards local food safety regulations and international certifications (FSSC 22000 Halal). The position will drive continuous improvement manage QA team and promote a culture of quality and safety across all operations from stores to warehouses and suppliers.
Key Tasks & KPI
Strategic Leadership
- Define implement and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in Pakistan.
- Develop QA strategies aligned with METRO Global standards local regulations and business objectives.
- Lead the QA division to ensure risk-based compliance operational excellence and high customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for global QA coordination and audits.
- Support on any other QA topics based on business needs or Global requirements.
Operations & Compliance
- Oversee store-level warehouse and supplier QA activities to ensure compliance with FSSC 22000 Halal HACCP and local food safety regulations.
- Collect evaluate and define product specifications and requirement profiles for Own Brand sensitive assortments and import goods.
- Ensure compliance with METRO standards customer expectations and legal requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments; ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Review QA documentation policies and procedures; maintain up-to-date operational manuals and SOPs.
- Manage QA support for new store/warehouse openings product launches and process changes.
Supplier & Product Quality Management
- Oversee supplier QA programs inspections and approvals focusing on Own Brand and fresh/ultra-fresh suppliers.
- Implement and maintain systems for product monitoring testing and compliance reporting.
- Manage complaints non-conformances product withdrawals and recalls in coordination with operations and supply chain teams.
- Evaluate supplier performance and define/monitor corrective preventive and support actions.
- Collaborate with institutions scientific bodies authorities associations and service providers to enhance supplier quality capabilities.
- Ensure continuous training and knowledge transfer of QA processes and standards across the organization.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare QA reports KPIs and dashboards for senior management.
- Analyze quality trends and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with global QA metrics and governance standards.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in food science Food Technology Microbiology or a related discipline
- Masters degree (MBA MS in Quality/Food Safety or equivalent) preferred
