Performs with minimal supervision radiographic examinations under the direction of the Radiologist. Coordinates daily activities including performing examinations and associated clerical duties.
Major Responsibilities
Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.
Certification / License
Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date. CPR certification

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates
the skills and competency appropriate to the ages culture developmental stages and special needs of the patient population served.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Handles equipment and monitors supplies. Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff . May frequently be to stretch bend twist squat or kneel in operating radiographic equipment. Will be to use hands for power gripping speed work and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment and in the case of injured or diseased patients. Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary.
