The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

Thisposition with the Department of Public Safety Intelligence and InvestigativeDivision (IID) Task Force Unit (TFU) will directly report to the Commander ofthe Task Force for DPSCS and work off-site at the Organized Crime DrugEnforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Strike Force location in Baltimore Task Force Analyst (TFA) position works with investigators for the OCEDETFStrike Force and the United States Attorneys Office (USAO). The TFAeffectively applies critical thinking methodologies and processes in resolvingcomplex problems analyzing along with the development production anddelivery of information; conducting structured analysis of events performingin-depth all-source research and analysis and preparing written assessmentsfor policy intelligence and law enforcement communities.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Graduation from anaccredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

    Experience: Six years ofadministrative staff or professional work.

    Notes:

    may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college oruniversity for each year up to four years of the required experience.

    may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degree from anaccredited college or university and two years of experience in administrativestaff or professional work for the required experience.

    may substitute the possession of a Masters degree from anaccredited college or university for the required experience.

    may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as acommissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration ofrules regulations policy procedures and processes or overseeing orcoordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higherranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the requiredexperience.

    SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

    • One (1) year of experience working with a federal task force.

    DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Five years of law enforcement experience researching analyzing and reporting criminal activity.
    • Degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice.

    LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

    Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.

    Personal Leave - new Stateemployees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on startdate)

    Annual Leave - ten (10) days of accumulatedannual leave per year
    Sick Leave - fifteen (15) daysof accumulated sick leave per year
    Parental Leave - up to sixty(60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child
    Holidays - State employees alsocelebrate at least twelve (12) holidays per year

    Pension - State employees earn credit towardsa retirement pension
