QA Engineer II
Alliance Technical Group is seeking a detail-driven QA Engineer to join our innovative team and play a key role in testing our DAS (Data Acquisition System) software. As a QA Engineer II you will:
- Develop clear comprehensive manual and automated test cases from user stories acceptance criteria and technical specifications.
- Actively use the product like a customer to surface defects validate usability and gather insights that inform future automation work.
- Maintain and extend existing automated test suites following established coding patterns and quality standards.
- Build representative data sets to validate business logic error handling and endâtoâend workflows.
- Log triage and verify defects; partner closely with developers to drive timely resolutions.
- Track key metrics (test coverage defect escape rate etc.) and communicate status to the team.
- Contribute ideas that streamline QA processes tooling and documentation.
- Participate in backlog refinement sprint planning reviews and retrospectives.
- Review release notes produced by the documentation team take part in live webinars and collaborate through walkthroughs and handâoff meetings to ensure accurate customerâready documentation.
- DevOps support Assist with build deployment and versionâcontrol activities (Git) to keep the CI/CD pipeline running smoothly.
What Youll Need:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of handsâon software QA experience carrying out both manual and automated testing preferably desktop or web applications.
- 1 years scripting experience in Windows (PowerShell) and/or a highâlevel language such as Python.
- Solid grasp of softwareâtesting principles including exploratory testâdesign techniques testâcase design and defectâtracking workflows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint).
- Ability to write basic SQL queries; understanding of relationalâdatabase concepts.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with Gitâbased version control.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; able to balance attention to detail with delivery timelines.
- Hands-on experience with TestComplete is highly preferred; familiarity with other UI automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium Playwright) is valuable.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps pipelines including release testing and deployment is highly preferred.
- Experience operating in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; comfortable seeking guidance when needed.
