Are you looking to use your laboratory skills to contribute to fresh food and a healthy diet We are looking to expand our team with a Technical Assistant - DH Production based at the KWS Vegetables state-of-the-art plant cell biologyfacilities in Wageningen the Netherlands. The Technical Assistantwill support the lab activities relating to doubled haploid production for KWS vegetables. You will implement tissue culture protocols support their subsequent optimization take part in the production of double haploids and ensure all DH production records are up to date. You will report to the Lead of Cell Biology based in Wageningen. The intended starting date for this position is March 2026.
Job purpose:
Contribute to the competitiveness of the worldwideKWS vegetable breeding portfolio through the routine cost effective and reliable production of doubled haploid lines. Support the implementation and optimization of doubled haploid production protocols for selected crops. Participate in all activities in the DH production process including media preparation sample picking in vitro tissue culture and DH acclimatization. Facilitate efficient platform management through the maintenance of accurate records.
Your Responsibilities:
Support the routine operation of DH platforms.
Participate in all lab activities involved in DH production.
Maintainaccuratelab records tofacilitateefficient platform management.
Perform all tasks associated with the production of high quality doubled haploid lines.
Assistin sampling of donor plants.
Sterilisationof incoming material.
Preparing media and other materials.
Execution of sterilein vitroplanttissue culture work.
Maintenance ofaccuratelab records and sample managementdatabases.
Set-up maintenance operationand cleaning oflaboratory equipmentand instruments.
Keepinglab and work area clean adhering tosterile techniquesand good lab practices.
Ensure that all work is performed in a safe and efficient mannerin accordance withproductionprotocols company policies and regulations.

You have aBScinlaboratory technologies(or related field)ideally withsomeexperience.
- Excellent command of the English language. Additional relevant languages are very beneficial
Experience with Office365 applicationsandtheability to learn new softwaretools.
Excellent attention to detail and highly results oriented.
