Job Summary

Introduction

Our client a leading healthcare company based in Northriding/Randburg JHB requires a HR Manager with Warehouse-based HR experience.

We are seeking a proactive detail-oriented HR Manager to join our team and take ownership of the full HR function particularly focusing on employee relations and operational support for our warehouse and office teams.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in both blue-collar and white-collar environments be confident in handling union-related matters and have a firm grasp of HR compliance performance management and documentation.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Recruitment & Staffing

  • Develop job descriptions and specifications.
  • Screen CVs and conduct interviews (primarily warehouse-based roles).
  • Support onboarding documentation and coordination of new hires (department managers lead orientations).
  • Support ad-hoc recruitment processes if required.

2. Employee Relations

  • Act as a liaison between employees and management.
  • Handle and document employee grievances disputes and general complaints especially within warehouse operations.
  • Lead discussions and investigations related to Non-Conformances (NCs) review camera footage and determine if further action (KPI deductions warnings disciplinary hearings) is required.

3. Training & Development

  • Identify training needs through performance reviews and job analysis.

4. Performance Management

  • Design and manage appraisal systems including biannual performance evaluations.
  • Monitor staff performance and coordinate feedback processes.

5. Compensation & Benefits

  • Ensure compliance with labor legislation relating to compensation and benefits.
  • Track and manage leave balances sick leave service awards and UIF submissions.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or similar.
  • 3-5 years in a generalist HR role including warehouse-based HR experience.
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with unions and handling disciplinary procedures.
  • Familiarity with HR software time and attendance systems and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in both office and warehouse environments is essential.
  • Proven experience handling employee grievances misconduct and union matters.
  • Strong knowledge of South African labor laws and HR compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple HR processes simultaneously with excellent attention to detail.
