This is a 12 month full-time position. Primary duties are to assistand relieve the General Director so that maximumattention may be devoted to the central problems for the effective operation of the school district.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Must have Word processing skills of 65 words per minute.
- Must have basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting skills
- Must have math skills and able to do basic mathematical calculations.
- Must have the abilityto operate office machines i.e. copy machine calculator.
- Must have experience in creating MS Word documents Excel spreadsheets and Powerpoint Presentations.
- Must have the ability to make effective and efficient judgments and to work independently.
- Must have the ability to handle pressure/stress.
- Preferable to have accounting experience or education.
- Preferable to have experience in using the USD 501 TERMS Education Resource Management program and USD 501 Schools Online Program for payroll entry finance and warehouse transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Places and receives telephone calls records messages.
- Manages the General Directors calendar
- Assists the General Director in preparing yearly budget and in managing budgetary expenses.
- Composes and types a variety of memos and reports and Board of Education presentation materials.
- Prepares records requisitions stockroom orders.
- Maintains a regular filing system as well as a set of locked confidential files
- Processes incoming correspondence for the general Director
- Enters payroll attendance for managerial staff and office personnel
- Manages the Petty Cash Fund
- Assigns duties to and supervises the work of clerical office personnel as assigned
- Editor of Service Center newsletter
- Orders and maintains supplies as needed
- Numerous varied duties not listed above.
Physical/Emotional Requirements: The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.
Medium work: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 25 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects. May need to sit for the majority of the work day.
Terms of Employment:
12 months; salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of classified employees.
