INSTALL TECHNICIAN

NATURE OF WORK: The Install Technician reports to the Install Supervisor. Lear designs builds and installs equipment for Lear plants globally. Our portfolio includes ASRS systems automated conveyor pallet elevators stackers/destackers pallet turntables automatic labelers shipping trailers and build line integration. At Lear we are always looking to incorporate new technologies into our seating plants.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (The following duties are typical for this classification. However any one position may not include all the duties listed nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)

• Follows health safety environmental regulations and safety protocols (safety harnesses fork truck scissor lift boom lifts LOTO)
• Builds mutual trust respect and cooperation among all team members
• Follows tasks given by supervision/management
• Unload and move equipment into position per layout
• Mount electrical devices install cable tray run sensor cabling 24VDC circuits 480VAC circuits airlines and ethernet to the equipment
• Make connections into the MCP
• Work with controls team to debug systems
• Read and analyze prints layouts and timelines
• Review drawings and verify site inventory
• Improve installation efficiency
• Contribute and build to team atmosphere

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Must be a team player. Outward Mindset and inclusive team building techniques

• Expert experience with forklifts rigging and hand tools
• Knowledgeable of automated equipment wiring (AC/DC Ethernet)

• Self-driven and willingness to work long hours during installations if required
• Understanding of facility requirements (i.e. air ethernet 110VAC 480VAC water)
• Ability to travel globally up to 80% of the time
• Ability to read 2D mechanical and electrical prints

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

• Ability to sit stand and kneel for long periods of time.
• Ability to concentrate on a given tasks and not be distracted.
• Ability to frequently stoop bend kneel crouch crawl climb reach twist grasp and make repetitive hand movements.
• Ability to lift carry and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to take direction
• Self-driven and a quick learner
